Earn Free Rewards Points Just By Shopping Online

Shopping online? Do it through the American Express Member Rewards portal and start earning free rewards points!

I really don’t get why people buy directly from a retailer when they could earn points just by clicking through a rewards portal like the AMEX portal. American Express has hundreds of opportunities to earn bonus points just by clicking through their offers. If you wait long enough, they will offer bigger bonuses on some of the more popular brands such as Apple, Home Depot, 1800Flowers, Macy’s and many others.

Right now I can earn 5 points per dollar spent at Apple.

This comes at a great time as my wife has been wanting a new computer! The Apple computer we have been looking at cost about $1,800; combined with the 5x points from AMEX, we would earn 9,000 rewards points. Since we are usually patient and wait for bonus transfers such as a Delta transfer bonus, this 9,000 rewards points could easily turn into 25%-40% more airline miles. This one purchase could net us 11,250 – 12,600 airline miles, half an economy ticket, all because we bought through the American Express rewards portal.

Buying flowers for mom, for your wife, girlfriend or just because? Why would you go directly to 1800Flowers, when you could buy the same flowers by clicking the rewards links in your membership portal. Right now you can earn 10 points per dollar spent and on a $100 order, that would give you 1,000 free rewards points, a much better deal than earning nothing.

Be sure you read the TOS on each offer.
